This week, February 8, 2010, join KPMG's State and Local Tax professional Sarah McGahan, Senior Manager, Washington National Tax, as she covers the following topics:

  • Alabama – An Administrative Law Judge has held that a transportation company's in-state purchases of truck tractors were subject to sales tax.
  • Hawaii – The Hawaii Department of Taxation recently issued a news release that reminds taxpayers of the new general excise tax filing and payment deadlines for periodic returns beginning with returns filed for the January 2010 period.
  • New York – An Administrative Law Judge has recently held that the Department of Taxation and Finance properly combined the income of a New York bank and its non-nexus Delaware investment company subsidiary.
